“Spilling" - Mixed media painting and dreams

A mixed media work is one that combines various techniques.
In this work, I use acrylic paint, alcohol ink, collage, and monotype.

Monotype is a single print, and I employ a unique process, not the usual method. Imagine applying paint with a spatula to something bumpy, say a board with wood grain.
The paint will be more on the dented areas of the grain and thinner on the higher areas, creating a pattern with shades of gray in the shape of the grain pattern. Like this, white paint is applied to the paper to create uneven surfaces, and after it has dried, black paint is applied using a spatula-like tool called a squeegee.
This process produces the irregular shapes that can be seen in the upper right corner of the painting, for example.

Images include a woman's face from a classical painting, a piece of an old slip found in an antique store, a geometric figure, part of a mathematical or physical formula, and a detailed relief pattern carved on a plate. The collage of faces and other figurative motifs is made with a transparent film (temporary tattoo sticker), so that the underlying layers of paint show through.

Do you ever wake up in the middle of the night, not remembering anything specific, yet feeling like you experienced a lot and saw various things, almost like remnants of a dream?
This work may evoke such a feeling.
